All you cool kids have extra reason to rejoice now that the
Edinburgh Skatepark, located in
Saughton Park, is officially open to the public.

Featuring everything from nursery areas for novices
to challenging competition-standard features for experts (and
the
daring), the state of the art, 2100 sq/m facility, is one of
the best in the UK.
Skateborders, rollerbladers and BMX-ers gathered on Monday to
watch BMX
superstar Danny MacAskill and the rest of Scotland's cycle
stunt team The Clan kick
things off with a stunning display to mark the occasion.
Top skatepark designer Dave Sowerby has had a hand in
proceedings, just like he did with the rather nifty indoor
facility, Transgression
Park, at Ocean Terminal. Which all means Scotland’s capital is
definitely now the place to perfect your pogo, work on your
wheelie and show off your elephant glide. Whatever that means.
